About these terms
These terms apply to your use of editspec.com and its tools (“EditSpec”, “the service”). By using EditSpec, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
The service
EditSpec offers online tools to resize, crop, compress and convert images, remove backgrounds, and prepare product photos for online marketplaces. The tools run in your web browser, and your photos are processed on your device. We may add, change or remove tools and features at any time.
Your photos and content
- You keep all rights to the photos you open and the files you make. We don't claim any ownership of them.
- You're responsible for having the right to use, edit and publish the photos you work with, including any people, logos or brands in them.
- Because your photos never reach our servers, we can't recover them if they're lost. Keep your own copies of your originals.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use EditSpec to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- make forged, fraudulent or misleading documents or identity photos, or pass off an edited image as someone else's genuine photo in order to deceive;
- create or share sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises, harasses or threatens others;
- interfere with the site, overload or attack it, or try to get around its limits or security;
- copy or resell the site itself, or present it as your own.
Check requirements yourself
Presets and sizes, such as passport and visa photo sizes, file size limits and marketplace image rules, are provided to help you. They are based on published requirements we have checked, but those rules differ between countries and platforms and change over time. Always check the current official requirements before you submit a photo. We don't guarantee that any authority, employer, exam board or marketplace will accept a file you make with EditSpec.
AI results
Background removal and product cutouts are made automatically by AI models. Results can be imperfect, especially around hair, fine detail, glass or busy backgrounds. Check every result before you use it, and switch a photo to No cutout or edit it another way if needed.
Downloads
Files you download are saved by your browser to your device, usually in your Downloads folder. The first time you use an AI feature, your browser also downloads the AI model from editspec.com and keeps it in this site's storage, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Our content and third-party software
The EditSpec name, logo, website design and text belong to us. You may not use them in a way that suggests you are EditSpec or that we endorse you. The site also uses open-source software and AI models, which remain under their own licences:
- MODNet (Apache License 2.0), with its weights stored at half precision for faster downloads.
- U²-Net (Apache License 2.0), with its weights reduced to 8 bits for faster downloads.
- ONNX Runtime Web, by Microsoft (MIT License).
- libheif, for iPhone HEIC photos (GNU LGPL 3.0).

Trademarks
Names of websites, apps and marketplaces, such as social networks and online stores, appear on EditSpec only to describe the image sizes and rules they use. They are trademarks of their owners. EditSpec isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, and we don't use their logos.
No warranty
EditSpec is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, or that its results will meet any particular requirement.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, EditSpec isn't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit, business or opportunity, arising from your use of the service. This includes a photo or file being rejected by a third party. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and if a change is significant, we'll say so clearly on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using EditSpec after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you live in another country, you also keep the protections that its consumer laws give you.
