Automatic background removal
Under Background, choose Remove background. An AI model separates the person from the background, including hair. The first time, your browser downloads the model once. After that it works instantly and even offline.
Then pick a colour for the new background, or choose Blur and set the Blur strength for a soft, portrait-style background. Choose Transparent and PNG to download the person with no background at all.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the download a PNG?
Only PNG (and WebP) can keep a transparent background. Pick a colour instead and you can save as JPG.

Yes. It works in modern mobile browsers, and iPhone HEIC photos open directly.
